Working and treatment of Mupirocin - Bactroban
Mupirocin is the drug used to treat the bacterial the bacterial disease. It reversibly binds to the bacterial isoleucyl-tRNA synthetase. This is an enzyme which advances and promotes the chances of conversion of isoleucine and t-RNA separately to form isoleucyl-tRNA.

This conversion results in the formation and inhibition of bacterial protein but also in the RNA synthesis.

Mupirocin has shown results that it is very strongly bonded to inhibit the protein and also to syntheses RNA in the Staphylococcus aureus. This takes place when the DNA and the formation of the cell walls of the skin have negative impact and are lesser in degree due to the atmosphere.

The presence and inhibition of RNA synthesis proved a protective mechanism of the drug. The reason for this was that RNA synthesis showed lack of some amino acid called as isoleucine. The studies related to the Escherichia coli proved that pseudomonic acids present in Mupirocin has the capability to inhibit isoleucine t-RNA synthesis.

The same mechanism as that of Mupirocin takes place in furanomycin which plays the role as that of analog of the isoleucine.

According to the tests the results of this ointment is seen best on the dry and cleaned skin. The area which is treated with this medicine can also be bandaged. The use of this cream should not be stopped too early as the bacteria can grow well again and the infection can relapse. Application of this ointment regularly 2-3 times daily shows the positive results within 3-4 days of use itself.
